The contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the performance of all operations incidental to mowing, trimming, planting, and cleanup to keepdesignated properties of the Township in a neat and orderly appearance. The frequency and performance of the work relative to any specific property will be in accordance with the detailed specifications and scope as set forth in the Scope of Work-Specific, identified with that property. In general, the Contractor shall:Remove from the area being mowed, all paper or debris which might be scattered or discharged by the mower, pose a hazard, or interfere with cutting operations, including wire, bottles, large rocks, metal cans, sticks, and other litter. Accumulated trash and debris are to be removed by the contractor, hauled away from the property, and disposed of properly.Mow grass, mulching the clippings.Grass shall be mowed to a height of not less than two inches above the surface of the soil and not more than three inches above the surface of the soil.Grass adjacent to buildings, utilities, trees, or fences, uncut by larger mowers, shall be cut by smaller mowers. This does not constitute trimming. Use a weed-trimmer to remove grasses around obstacles that prevent cutting with the mower, such as trees, poles, benches, and structures. a. Each time the grass of an area is mowed, all grass brush, weeds, and other vegetation growing besides walls, guy wires, poles, shrubs, trees, foundations, garbage can pad, fire hydrants, or any object within the designated areas shall be cut at a height consistent with the adjoining turf areas.Grass shall be "edged" along all curbs, sidewalks, and driveways.Mow and trim all grass areas within Worrilow Park. Activities to be limited flat areas within the fence. Mowing not necessary on banks. Bidders are required to submit a surety in the form of a bond or equivalent meeting 10% of the overall bid price in compliance with the contract documents. Bid bonds will be returned to the non-awarded bidders upon the execution of the contract. The successful Bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. Since the determination of the successful Bidder requires uniformity of terms and quotation of prices, the Township of Chester reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to reject any proposal which does not conform with the requirements of the Notice to Bidders, Instruction to Bidders, Form of Proposals, and Scope of Service or to waive any informalities therein.The Township reserves the right to retain the security of all Bidders until the successful Bidder enters into the Contract or until forty-five (45) days after Bid opening, whichever is sooner. Other Bid security will be returned as soon as practical. If any Bidder refuses to enter into a Contract, the Township may retain the Bid security as Liquidated Damages but not as a penalty. No changes in prices or terms and conditions will be considered after the Bids have been accepted.Clarification deadline -11/23/2022 4:00 PM
