As of 12/8/2022, there was one bid received. The board rejected the bid during a meeting on Monday and owner is reevaluating the project. The guiding specifications for this project is the plan set from Automated Batting Cages dated 4-15-2015. The awarding of the bid for this project will be based on the "Best Value" for the City of Early, Texas, as authorized by section 252.043(b) of the Texas Local Government Code. (b) In determining the best value for the municipality, the municipality may consider: The purchase price; The reputation of the bidder and off the bidder's goods or services; The quality of the bidders goods or services; The extent to which the goods or services meet the municipality's needs; The bidders past relationship with the municipality; The impact on the ability of the municipality to comply with laws and rules relating to contracting with historically underutilized businesses and non-profit organizations employing persons with disabilities; The total, long-term cost to the municipality to acquire the bidder's goods or services; Any relevant criteria specifically listed in the request for bids or proposals. The City Council of the City of Early reserves the right authorized by section 252.043(f) of the Texas Local Government Code: (f)The governing body may reject any and all bids. Contractor shall furnish a starting and completion date as part of their proposal for construction.
