GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT The work under this project includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment required for the performance of all reconstruction as indicated on the Contract Documents. The work essentially includes, but is not limited to: 1. LOCATION OF THE WORK All work under this Contract will be performed on Maple Avenue within the Borough of Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. 2. DRAWINGS The following drawing is included herein and made an integral part ofthe Contract Documents. Plan Sheet S-1, Plan Sheet S-2, Plan Sheet S-3, Plan Sheet S-4, SE-1, MD-1, MD-2, and Plan Sheet MD-3 (These Drawings are bound within these documents and follow this Scope of Work). A. Removal of existing roadway and sidewalk as shown on plans and construction of new concrete roadway and concrete sidewalks. B. The removal of existing storm sewer system and installation of new storm sewer system as shown on plans. C. All required excavation, bedding and backfill, including the furnishing and installation of aggregate as specified and disposal of excess and unsuitable excavated materials to an approved disposal site. D. Compliance with all applicable state and local requirements relative to public highway occupancy, roadway openings, pavement restoration, traffic control and any and all other applicable requirements. E. The complete cleanup of the entire site of work. I. The completion of all required restoration, paving, landscaping, and any other such related and required work. J. All other such related and required work as indicated on the Contract Drawings or contained elsewhere in these Contract Documents. All excavation shall be unclassified and no extra payment will be made for rock, boulders, shale, timbers, logs, old foundations, old street car tracks, masonry or other natural or artificial materials encountered in the trenching operations except as may be noted in the Engineering Specifications. The Contractor shall make personal examination of the locations in which the pipelines are to be constructed to determine for himself the extent of the rock that may be encountered. The Contractor acknowledges there may not be sufficient time to perform pre-bid borings to determine the nature of the subsurface conditions and that the Contractor may have to rely on its visual inspection of the site when making a determination as to the character ofthe subsurface conditions. No information regarding subsurface conditions along the routes of the pipelines will be given by the owner. The Contractor shall assume all risks associated with the composition of the subsurface materials and the ease or difficulty of excavation. The Contractor shall not at any time claim a misunderstanding regarding the depth or character of the excavation to be made or in the nature of the materials to be encountered.
