As of February 20, 2023, this project was awarded to Shady Grove Construction, LLC, awarded amount is $2,874,999.75 Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to construct and install the improvements to the existing pumping station facility and access drive in their entirety as shown on the Drawings and as specified herein. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following major items: 1. Civil and site improvements: Demolition of the existing standby generator system, building and diesel fuel system. Demolition of existing steel antennae tower (currently not in use). Repair and paving of the existing pump station access drive from Lucius Road to the pump station site. Site grading and drainage associated with installation of new standby diesel engine generator system. 2. Process mechanical improvements: Relocation of two supplemental pumping units currently located in the pump station influent channels immediately ahead of the wet wells. The existing pumping equipment itself will be reused but piping and mounting systems will be modified. Replacement of two of the existing 250-HP main sewage pumps and associated piping and mounting provisions. The new pumping units will be supplied by the Owner. Procurement of spare parts for four existing 150-HP sewage pumps. See spare part list section 43 23 80.01. No modification to the existing pumps are included in this Contract. Replacement of the existing dry well sump pump system and piping. Replacement of the existing backflow preventer on the city water supply to the station. 3. Structural modifications: Construction of a new elevated concrete platform to support a new standby diesel engine generator system. Pressure-washing of all interior concrete surfaces insides the pump station dry well. 4. Electrical and instrumentation improvements: Installation and removal of temporary engine generator system and associated electrical work for temporary power supply as specified. Installation of a new 1,000-kW diesel generator set with sound attenuating enclosure and associated electrical improvements to connect with the existing pump station electrical power system. Replacement of the existing programmable logic controller (PLC) and operator interface in the main pump station control panel. Modifications to the existing PLC programming to incorporate a revised pump control strategy for the six main sewage pumps. See Spec. Section 40.61.96. Replacement of two existing pressure transmitters located inside the pump station including new cabling, conduit, and connection to existing pump station control system. Provide new conduit and wire for motorized gate actuator on upper level of pump station. The work of this Contract is located at the existing North Columbia Pump Station (NCPS) site. The address of the facility is 3247 Lucius Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29201. The access drive to the pump station site is located on easements on two separate properties. The pump station site proper is located on property owned by the City.
