Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Alma, Kansas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
**As of February 16, 2022, project was awarded to L&M Contractors of Great Bend, awarded amount is $319,545.50.** This project consists of the removal of the existing 28' Steel Beam bridge's stone and mortar abutments only (prior traffic control, clearing, grubbing and bridge superstructure removal to be preformed by the County.) Replacement will be with a 40' Steel Beam bridge having a 24' roadway and no skew. Specific work items include approach grading, bridge excavation, reinforced concrete placement, beam setting, welding, granular backfill, compaction and guard fence bridge rail installation (final seeding and gravel surfacing to be preformed by the County).
