Rebuild/Relocate Station 4. This station was constructed as a temporary metal building in 1973, and it has undergone two major renovations. The current location on McEver Road is surrounded by annexed Gainesville City property. The station was originally built to house two apparatus and have four people on duty each day. The station was expanded to include a third apparatus bay and some minor living quarters expansion. This is one of the busiest districts, and the department has out grown the facility. The request is to rebuild and relocate the station to a better location for emergency responses for County residents. The facility needs to be expanded to house more personnel and be built to current fire service standards. This project ties in to the County's Strategic Plan in maintaining infrastructure and improve employee's work environment. This project is included in the city's 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
