The University is seeking to hire a Contractor for renovation work that will be delivered by Job Order Contracting (JOC). As described in more detail in the bidding documents, work under the JOC will be limited to the following: The General Building Contractor will provide materials and services in support of renovation or remodel projects: 1) Inside operational OSHPD (HCAI) 1 regulated hospital, 2) Inside operational OSHPD 3 ambulatory clinics, 3) Inside operational educational, administrative, and non-clinical spaces, and 4) Site improvements. JOC contracts for B-License Contractors are reserved for General Building work with construction value up to $300,000. This JOC specifically excludes projects that may require qualified specialized staff holding specific certifications or licenses as determined by the University Representative. This JOC specifically excludes work inside the Central Plant. This JOC contractor will be responsible for coordination with the Universitys established vendors for Fire Alarm, Water Quality, Industrial Hygiene, Lighting Controls and Building Management Controls. Specialty plumbing systems such as Reverse Osmosis, Deionized Water, Medical Vacuum, Medical Gas and Medical Air, etc. are excluded from this JOC. Line items for this JOC shall include: Minor demolition Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment installation HVAC ductwork modification Installation or modification to existing lighting and lighting controls Installation or modification of electrical & data outlets Modification or construction of interior walls Drywall patching and paint Flooring installation Only Prequalified Contractors are eligible to bid this project. Prequalified B-License Contractors for UC Davis Health Project No. JOC 2022-01 are: - FCF General Contractor - Roebbelen Contracting - S+B James Construction - Streamline Construction - Triamid Bid Security in the amount of $25,000 shall accompany each Bid. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120). The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B- General Building Contractor. The Job Order Contract will have a Maximum Job Order Contract amount of $ 5,000,000 for the initial oneyear term with two possible one-year extension options for $ 5,000,000 each. Individual Job Order Authorizations shall not exceed $1,000,000. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wages at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local working condition requirements.
