No definite date for the rebid.** The Collier County Water-Sewer District (CCWSD) owns and operates the South County Regional Water Treatment Plant (SCRWTP). The SCRWTP has two separate water treatment processes: The lime softening facility was first placed into operation in 1984 and the second phase placed into operation in 1986. The lime softening facility has a permit capacity of 12 million gallons per day (MGD). The reverse osmosis facility includes Phase 1 with an 8 MGD capacity and Phase 2 with a 12 MGD capacity. The total reverse osmosis facility was placed into operation in 2006 with a total permit capacity of 20 MGD. The lime softening facility receives fresh raw water from our existing Tamiami wellfield and the reverse osmosis facility receives brackish water from our existing upper and lower Hawthorne wellfield. The objective for this project is to complete all the necessary improvements/expansion to continue to meet demands, stay in compliance, and serve customers efficiently by providing a compliant and reliable water treatment plant to CCWSD customers. A separate solicitation is currently being advertised to complete the design portion of this project.
