The City of Milford seeks pre-qualifications from contractors for 2023 Sanitary Sewer Construction Projects. The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. Pursuant to C.G.S. 31-53, the requirements for prevailing wage rates as outlined by the State of Connecticut Department of Labor are to apply to the resultant contract award Equal Employment Opportunity - Executive Order 11246 and 41 CFR Part 60: Attention is called to the Equal Opportunity Clause and the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications set forth within the Code of Federal Regulations. Any successful Bidder shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Any subsequent construction project in excess of $100,000 shall include as a provision retainage in the amount of 5% of the contract value, in accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Section 49-41b. The City of Milford reserves the right to reject any or all responses, and to waive any informality or technical defect, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
