As of February 6, 2023, project is cancelled. Project is no longer needed. City of Conover is soliciting proposals for General Contractors Only for one (1) home rehabilitation. City of Conover has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Scattered Site Housing Project to rehabilitate homes. The house to be rehabilitated is located on 1st Street W, Conover. This job consist of installing (1) new window, (2) exterior doors, (2) storm doors, foundation vents, (2) crawlspace doors, HVAC systems with ductwork, attic insulation, vapor barrier, some electrical upgrades, plumbing work: handicap shower, toilet, bathroom vanity; floor covering in (3) rooms, (4) interior doors, interior painting, kitchen appliances, as well as other carpentry work. Will have to coordinate work with an Lead Based Paint Abatement Contractor for the items that have Lead Based Paint that have to be Abated (12) items You will need to be a licensed contractor since the bids will be over $30,000 and up to $100,000. You will have to be a Renovate Right to Repair (RRP) lead certified contractor with the state of NC because the job contains some lead base paint abatement work. You are not responsible for abatement of the lead-based paint and a Lead Based Paint Abatement contractor is being procured separately. This job will have to be coordinated with the that contractor. You will have to use licensed sub-contractors and be responsible for their work. This program only contracts with General Contractors and not Sub Contractors.
