The Maryland Department Of Transportation, Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA or the Administration) is using the Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery method, as defined in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 21.05.10, to design and construct a new electric bus facility for the Eastern Bus Division, located at 201 Oldham Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. Project Cost Class E - $2,500,000 to $5,000,000 Questions Due Date and Time January 10, 2023 at 2 PM EST Contract Duration: 759 base period for preconstruction phase *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The proposed MDOT MTA Eastern Bus Division Redevelopment Project (EBDRP) (the Project) includes clearing the entire site, demolishing existing buildings, and expanding the site to approximately 8.5 acres by closing and relocating Ponca Street. The total project limit of disturbance is approximately 13 acres, including the Eastern Bus Division site, Ponca Street relocation, and utilities infrastructure. The new facility will be designed to initially accommodate a combined fleet of diesel and Battery Electric Buses (BEB), then transition into a 100% BEB fleet of approximately 200 electric buses. A 2-story 73,000 square foot building will be constructed to house the transportation and maintenance functions of the facility and a 145,000 square foot canopy will provide covered storage for 187 buses, including 162 coach buses, 18 articulated buses, and 7 spaces for dead bus storage. Three fare collection lanes will be built to provide vaults that are weather protected under a canopy and behind the west facing wall. A 3000 square foot enclosed and conditioned space will accommodate fare collection support. A 14,500 square foot enclosed space, constructed at grade, will house three lanes for fueling, service, and wash bays with associate support space. The new facility is seeking LEED certification and will include environmental remediation.
