Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a detention facility in Columbus, Georgia. Working plans call for the addition of a detention facility; for the demolition of a detention facility; for the renovation of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
As of May 15, 2026, this project has completed schematic design. The project is in the process of getting approvals from the City Council. An architect has been selected. A general contractor has also been selected. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been established, it is not expected to begin prior to mid-2027, at the earliest. Closed solicitation for design services has been included below for reference. ........... Columbus Consolidated Government is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing space planning and programming and schematic design services for the expansion and/or renovation of the Muscogee County Jail. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms that respond to this RFQ, who are determined by the Owner to be sufficiently qualified, may be deemed eligible to offer proposals for these services and may be invited for interviews. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
