Renovation of a communication facility in Lincolnton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a communication facility.

Lincoln County Schools is accepting bids for Network Wiring for forty-six total network drops at two campuses, twenty-six at Pumpkin Center Primary and twenty-one at Pumpkin Center Intermediate, as well as procurement of fourteen Axis network cameras and installation of forty-six Axis network cameras. Project Scope of Work - General 1. This RFP is requesting quotes for supplying and installing a complete certified installation and performance structured cabling system for the facility's named on the cover of this document. 2. The cabling/camera contractor must furnish and install complete specified copper/fiber cabling, jacks, machine printed labeling, patch cables, wiring racks, cameras, camera components and any consumables required for a complete and working installation. 3. If required, it is the responsibility of the cabling/camera contractor to move furniture where necessary for access to the work area and to move it back to its existing location. The cabling contractor must ensure the location is clean of debris and is responsible for the removal of all wastes produced by the cabling project to an off-site location. 4. The cabling/camera contractor will furnish an electronic copy of as-built drawings and diagrams documenting all cable drop locations and pathways back to the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) or Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) locations. The format may be in either Microsoft Visio or Adobe Reader (PDF) format. This requirement is due within two weeks of the project completion date. Failure to do so will result in a $500.00 penalty to be deducted from the final payment. - Project Scope of Work - Copper-Cabling Specifications 1. The cabling/camera contractor must provide a certified Panduit installation or an adequate equivalent approved by an authorized Technology Services representative. 2. The installation must be compliant with ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.2-1 standards. 3. The copper cabling used must be Panduit PUP6004YL-UY Category-6 cabling or an adequate equivalent approved by an authorized Technology Services representative. 4. Documentation of all cabling test results is required for all installations and will be due at the same time as the as-built drawings with the same conditions. 5. The installation must pass the Category-6 certification tests. 6. All cable installations must have horizontal and vertical wire management installed. 7. The cabling/camera contractor must utilize existing cable trays and conduits as specified in number 10 below. If these paths are not provided, the cabling contractor is responsible for installing the pathway. If the cabling contractor needs to install an alternate pathway, this must be preapproved by an authorized Technology Services representative and must conform to all local and national building codes and standards. 8. The cabling/camera contractor must provide a uniform installation of hardware (i.e. all faceplates should be of the same model and type). 9. Network drop connections may not be surface mounted to walls without the prior approval of an authorized representative of the Technology Services department. 10.The cabling/camera contractor must properly support all cable in the pathway from the MDF or IDF to the termination end-point in a hallway or office. The cabling contractor will also provide a clean installation with ten-foot service loops in the MDF and all IDF's and one-foot service loops at all endpoint terminations. The horizontal cabling will utilize existing cable trays or make maximum use of a J hook cable-supporting device when no cable tray is present. 11.Each drop must be marked with machine printed labels in accordance with current ANSI/TIA/EIA-568- B.2-1 standards. Failure to provide machine printed labels will result in the cabling contractor to correct at no cost to LCS. The MDF, all IDF's, and end-point terminations will be labeled with the format of "ClosetPanel-Drop" for the end-point and "Room-Drop" for the MDF/IDF locations (e.g. MDF-A-23 in a classroom or 124-23 in a closet). 12.The cabling/camera contractor must provide one patch cord in the length of 5' for every patch panel jack. 13.The cabling/camera contractor isresponsible for verifying with the LCS Maintenance department to determine that the proper type of cable is used in the plenum or non-plenum environment. 14.The cabling/camera contractor isresponsible for verifying with the LCS Maintenance department to determine if there are any asbestoslocated within the facility named on the cover of this document. 15.The cabling/camera contractor is responsible for positioning cameras in direction approved by an authorized Technology Services representative.
