The deposit of all other sets of documents will be refunded fifty percent (50%) upon return of documents as stated above. Contractors required for this project shall be major classification as general contractors only. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the Total Bid (including any Alternates). Bid Security must be in the form of a cashiers check, certified check or a satisfactory bid bond written by a company with a current A. M. Best Rating of A- (Excellent), Financial Size Category VII with a Stable Outlook and licensed in the State of Louisiana. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the following bonds written by a company with a current A. M. Best Rating of A- (Excellent), Financial Size Category VII with a Stable Outlook and licensed in the State of Louisiana: Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount; Payment Bond in an amount equal to fifty percent (50%) of the contract amount; and Maintenance Bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the contract amount. The Contract Time shall be three hundred sixty five (365) calendar days. Liquidated Damages are One-Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), as provided for in the Contract Documents. Liquidated Damages will apply for each consecutive calendar day that the Work is not completed beyond the three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days after the date of commencement of the Work fixed in the Notice to Proceed, subject to such adjustments of the Contract Time as may be made according to the terms of the Contract Documents. Said sums shall in no event be construed to be a penalty; but only as damages fixed and agreed upon in advance. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after actual date of the opening thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids with just cause. Bids which deviate from the Construction Documents will not be considered.
