The Vernon Parish Police Jury reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause in accordance with R.S. 38:2212 & 2214. Work to be bid: Asphalt on all prepared bases shall be completed by October 31, 2023 unless otherwise authorized by the Parish Road Manager. 1. 1.5 Asphalt Overlay (Level 1 Non-Polymer): labor, equipment, and materials to lay prime coat, 1 hot mix asphalt, Level 1 Non-Polymer asphalt overlay on 12 22 wide road on prepared base and existing asphalt, price per ton with suitable wearing coarse; 5% over run; five (5) day time limit in Vernon Parish from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Widening of intersections and turnouts MUST be priced as part of the road. Must meet LADOTD specifications. No minimum tonnage required per job. Contractor to respond and perform within five (5) days of notice from Vernon Parish Police Jury. 2. 2 Asphalt Overlay (Level 1 Non-Polymer): labor, equipment, and materials to lay prime coat, 2 hot mix asphalt, Level 1 Non-Polymer asphalt overlay on 12 22 wide road on prepared base and existing asphalt, price per ton with suitable wearing coarse; 5% over run; five (5) day time limit in Vernon Parish from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Chip Seal: labor, equipment, and materials to lay sections of level and chip seal with washed granite/rhyolite Hatton Tuff over existing blacktop, 12 22 wide road from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. No minimum on square yardage required per job. Must meet LADOTD specifications. Contractor to respond and perform within five (5) days of notice from Vernon Parish Police Jury. 4. Lime Conditioning for Gravel or Asphalt Roads: Furnish labor, equipment, and material delivered to site to stabilize heavy clay with hydrated lime, depth and percentage to be determined by qualified laboratory on 12-22 wide Gravel or Asphalt Road base 5% over run. The top 8-12 inches deep of all roads must be reclaimed before placing Lime Conditioning from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Widening of intersections and turnouts MUST be priced as part of the road. Must meet LA-DOTD specifications. No minimum tonnage required per job. Contractor to respond and perform within five (5) days of notice from the Vernon Parish Police Jury. 5. Soil Cement Base Material for Gravel or Asphalt Roads: Furnish labor, material, and equipment delivered and distributed at site, to stabilize the existing road, percent by volume of Portland cement to be determined by a qualified laboratory, cut in on 12 22 wide Gravel or Asphalt Road base 5% over run primed and ready for asphalt, price per square yard, If Lime is not required the top 8-12 inches deep of all roads must be reclaimed before placing soil cement from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. Must meet LADOTD specifications. Contractor to respond and perform within five (5) days of notice from Vernon Parish Police Jury. 6. Asphalt Grinding: labor and equipment to grind up asphalt/3-shot roads, 6-12 deep. Price per square yard, from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
