There are currently six buildings with metal roofs that are in need of repair. See attached arial map for exact buildings and approximate roof size. The City of Alexander City is seeking proposals for the repair. The repairs shall include the following The entire roof must be cleaned using no less than 2,500 psi pressure washer, and inspected for defects. All bare metal surfaces must be primed for and readied for coating. All fasteners must be retorqued or replaced. When replacing fasteners, a larger size fastener shall be used. A water tight coating is preferred, and must be used in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Applied coatings shall minimally consist of a base and topcoat. When complete, the exterior surface shall be uniform in texture and color. A clean and safe work zone shall be maintained during the entirety of the project, and the contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup and hauling away of all trash daily. Warranty for all workmanship shall be for a minimum of one year, and materials shall be warrantied for ten years from the date of completion of the project. Proposals shall include all technical data for coating products and/or other proposed materials to be used. Contractor may be asked to provide a sample or demonstration of the product to be used. The City of Alexander City, Alabama, is requesting proposals for the roofing project of multiple roofs and the Sportplex Football Stadium, Alexander City, AL, per the attached specifications.
