The Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency (AVEK, Agency) is seeking proposals from qualified firms for Construction Management services for an upcoming public works project. Construction Management firm and any subconsultants must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. This project is a Public Works project and requires payment of Prevailing Wages The 60th and L-12 Turnout Project consists of installation of a line stop on AVEK's 36" steel pipeline; installation of a cut in tee; installation of 270 linear feet of 36" and 24" steel pipeline; two butterfly valves, connections to existing pipelines; and other miscellaneous pipeline appurtenances. Project Location The project is located near the intersection of 60th Street West and Avenue L-12 in Lancaster, California. Project Schedule The project has been bid out and the contractor is currently procuring materials. The Contractor has been hired by AVEK's customer. AVEK's customer has allotted 10 working days for the contractor to complete the work. Notice of Award and Signed Contract with CM Firm January 2023 Construction Start January 2023 Construction Complete January 2023 Project Close Out February 2023 The selected construction management firm will be onsite at all times during construction and will serve as AVEK's representative. Typical construction management services will be required. These services include: Task 1 - Pre-Construction Activities Attend a Pre-Construction Meeting onsite. Review all project documents to become familiar with the project before construction starts. Task 2 - Perform daily inspections Maintain staff on-site to manage the project and ensure work is compliant with project specifications and Agency standards. Prepare daily written reports and photo documentation to document weather conditions, number or workers, equipment in use, contractor activities, general activities, and special occurrences. Review approved submittals to ensure materials onsite are the ones that were submitted. Coordinate with contractor, inspectors, and Owner for all inspections and shutdowns. Coordinate systems and equipment start-up and testing. Coordinate final inspection. Prepare and review punchlist items. Maintain documentation for preparation of record drawings. Task 3 - Post-Construction Activities Transmit an electronic copy of all project related documentation. Submit a copy of the inspector's red-lined drawings. Review submittals for warranties, O&Ms, and official record drawings. Close out report including a summary of the project construction, key issues, lessons learned, and any other relevant project information.
