12/30/2022 10:00:00 AM Work may commence March 1st, 2023 and shall be completed no later than May 31, 2023. o Dike 1 will need to have the topsoil removed from top of the dike before any repairs are performed. The topsoil can be stored onsite as directed by the Area Manager. o Dike 1 shall be keyed, the whole length of the dike (1,190 ft), 3 feet below normal ground level thru the center of the dike with a minimum width of 24". Any/all existing holes and voids shall be plugged with clay fill and compacted in 6" lifts. The keyed area will also be backfilled and compacted in 6" lifts. o Any existing root balls within Dikes 1 and 2 will need to be removed, along with the beaver lodge on the east side of Dike 1, and the existing holes will need to be filled with clay and compacted in 6" lifts. The root balls and lodge material shall be hauled off and disposed of by the contractor. o Clay fill for the repairs will be provided by the contractor. o Final dike top elevation shall remain at current height. o Sides will be regraded to a uniform slope no steeper than 4:1 from crest to toe on both sides. Top will be a minimum of ten feet and graded to a uniform elevation for the entire length of the dike. o The contractor will be responsible for removing the old water control structures. o The water control structures and pipe to be installed will be supplied by the Division of Wildlife. o Installation of the water control structure(s) shall follow manufacturer instructions, unless otherwise directed by the Area Manager. o Topsoil will need to be placed (graded and smoothed) on top of the clay fill on both the top and sides of the dike, any additional topsoil needed will be supplied by contractor.
