Site work for a water / sewer project in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The London State Fish Hatchery has five main wells that need extensive rehabilitation work. These wells are designated as well #4, well #5, well #7, well #10 and well #11. Currently wells 4,5,7 and 11 are useable but most likely require extensive cleaning. Well #10 has a malfunctioning pump and this pump has been pulled from the well and was assessed and likely requires replacement. Well 10 was already determined by video inspection to be dirty with heavy deposits of calcium and iron. Each of the above wells need the following service. Each well needs the submersible pump, motor, and column (drop) pipe removed. The drop pipe needs to be assessed for corrosion and if all threads are intact and functionable for reassembly. If the drop pipe is severely corroded and/or with failing threads, then the drop pipe must be replaced. The wells need to be cleaned with muriatic acid (55 gallons) to dissolve calcium and iron deposits. In addition to the acid treatment each well is to be cleaned and redeveloped with a mechanical plunger and air surge for 50 hours. After the above is completed, the well will be disinfected with high test hypochlorite (chlorine bleach). Video inspection of the well will then determine status of the well casing and screens to be sure these are sound and in working order. The pump and motor will be assessed for wear and function and if malfunctioning or worn will be replaced with new. The well pump, motor and drop pipe will be assembled, repositioned, and test ran for flow. The well will then be returned to normal service. All five of these wells are found at the following address: London State Fish Hatchery 2470 Roberts Mill Road, London, OH 43140 (Corner of Robert's Mill Road and Old Springfield Road) Delivery Date: As soon as possible Evaluation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the State. Contract Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total. Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive. Once a contract is awarded, failure of the bidder to have requested a site visit to become familiar with the facility and requirements of the bid will be insufficient reason to support any request to be released from the contract. The awarded supplier will be required to sign an Addendum to Bid Quote or Personal Services Agreement. Example attached. All bidders must sign and attach the Standard Affirmation & Disclosure Form to their bid in Ohio Buys. This may be signed electronically through Adobe or through a wet signature. If this is not attached, the winning bidder will be asked to sign before a contract can be routed for review.
