Located in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Sutherland House provides transitional residential support services for women and their children who experience domestic violence. Referrals are accepted from across the Northwest Territories. This facility is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week by female personnel. This is the only emergency shelter in Fort Smith. The main level contains four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room and staff office. The lower level consists of a large storage area, a recreation area, bathroom, utility room, pantry and office. Optimum capacity for the program is eight. The building has security monitors located at both front and back entrances and an intercom system. Cancelled - Plans to retender has not been determined.
