This work shall conform to the requirements of Section 305 of the 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction of the Michigan Department of Transportation with the following modification: The pulverizer must be able to inject brine into drum at a precisely controlled rate of 3/4 gallon per square yard and be able to connect physically to the tanker used to deliver the brine to the site. Also the pulverizer must have remix bars such that 95 percent of the crushed material must have a maximum particle size of 1 1/2 inch, with no particle size exceeding 4 inches. There will be no additional compensation for providing equipment meeting this requirement. It is included in the pay item HMA Base Crushing and Shaping, Modified.
