Project Description Electrical work associated with the installation of approximately 325 window air-conditioning units at Allen Hall. Work will also include, but not necessarily be limited to, providing additional power outlets including new raceways and painted soffits. Window air-conditioning units and sashes will be provided by UI Housing to be installed by contractors. This Project is located at: Allen Hall, UI Bldg #0142, 1005 W. Gregory Dr., Urbana, IL 61801 The following certification is applicable for contractors and subcontractors only. Pursuant to the Prevailing Wage Act, Vendor shall pay a wage of no less than the general prevailing hourly rate as paid for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, to all laborers, workers and mechanics, pursuant to definitions, guidelines and procedures set forth in 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. seq. (2010). This project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included at the end of Section 00 90 00. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to accept the bids deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner after all bids have been examined and evaluated. Alternates, if considered, will be accepted in any order as determined by the Owner. Provide window air conditioning units (A/C) at Allen Hall for student dormitories and study lounges, approximately 325 A/C units total. The project shall include at minimum, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Hazardous materials abatement and remediation. 2. Window air conditioning units, including power raceways and outlets to units. A/C units to be provided by Housing (Using Agency) and be set in insulated sashes provided by UI F&S Mill shop. Sashes provided by UI F&S Mill shop and window A/C units provided by Housing are to be installed by contractor. 3. Flashing, including condensate drip pan, as part of the window sash infill and A/C unit installation. 4. Interior finish carpentry including wood soffits enclosing conduits and raceways, finishes include painting. 5. Additional power outlets, including conduit and/or raceways. The Project consists of the renovation of Allen Hall to provide window air conditioning units in student rooms and study lounges.
