Renovation of a transportation facility in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The City of Ames, Iowa is accepting bids from qualified contractors to replace three (3) underground storage tank spill buckets for CyRide. All work must be completed by January 13, 2023. If outside temperatures do not permit pouring concrete, CyRide will work with the successful contractor to determine an appropriate surface until outdoor conditions permit concrete work. The three (3) underground storage tank spill buckets to be replaced are listed below. Spill Bucket A: North Diesel Tank Spill Bucket B: Waste Oil Tank Spill Bucket C: 15W-40 Oil Tank Requirements for the replacement of the spill buckets are as follows: Spill buckers shall be double wall construction. All spill buckets should meet all current standards and known future standards. All spill buckets shall be installed with the rims slightly above grade to prevent water infiltration during rain events. Concrete should be sloped away from each spill bucket. Fill pipe should be set low enough to secure a standard padlock on top of the fill cap. All concrete removal and replacement shall be included in the bid. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
