As of July 12, 2024, a general contractor has been identified. The City of North Augusta, South Carolina is accepting bids for Transfer Station Engineering Services which consists of furnishing all needed labor, equipment to engineer a Solid Waste Transfer Facility for the City of North Augusta. Bids must be submitted on the form(s) submitted by the City and in accordance with specifications and list of quantities desired. It is the intent and purpose of the City of North Augusta that this Invitation to Bid promotes competitive bidding. It shall be the bidder's responsibility to advise the Department of Public Services at the address noted if any language, requirements, etc. or any combination thereof, inadvertently restricts or limits the requirements stated in this Invitation to Bid to a single source. Such notification must be submitted in writing and must be received by the Department of Public Services no later than ten (10) days prior to the bid closing date. The City of North Augusta seeks to contract for professional design services for the purposes of obtaining permits, developing plans and specifications for the construction of a new Solid Waste Transfer Station. The envisioned concept is to create a covered raised dumpster loading platform from a modular concrete structure to access top load storage trailers The City of North Augusta is planning to construct a Solid Waste Transfer Station for its use in processing and consolidating solid waste collected by the City of North Augusta, various government agencies and commercial waste haulers. The proposed facility shall be designed in size to accommodate waste processing and consolidation of approximately 250 tons per day of household and commercial solid waste. The city owns vacant land located at 67 Claypit Road that is suitable for this purpose Work shall consist of design services to prepare building and site construction plans and specifications in accordance with City of North Augusta (CONA) and South Carolina Department of Health (SCDHEC) standards. Additional services but not limited to; may consist of Environmental Assessment/Permitting, Land Survey and Geotechnical investigation.
