Renovation of an educational facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 41,000-square-foot educational facility.

This project will renovate approximately 41,000 GSF on multiple floors in the Mechanical Engineering Building on the West Lafayette campus. The project goal is to improve instructional spaces inclusive of labs and classrooms with new collaboration space nearby. Several offices will be renovated, and a new stairway will connect the Mechanical Engineering Building to the Gatewood addition. A new elevator, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems will be upgraded. a. Improve adjacencies and relationships b. Leverage existing classroom locations and access to student services c. Integrate collaboration spaces d. Address office space and groupings e. Improve circulation, access, and wayfinding f. Promote flexibility and transparency g. Improve access to Gatewood h. SAE Labs repurposed i. Grad student offices in lieu of faculty offices j. Reorganization of main office suite and support k. Relocate smaller classrooms to lower floor l. New stairway connection from original ME building to newer Gatewood wing m. New elevator to improve ADA access n. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades
