Bid 714 – Division A is awarded to Schomburg & Schomburg Construction, Inc. for $12,651,758.00 All submittals for Bid #714 – Division B are rejected. The project shall consist of improvements at the Garfield Park and Pool. Work on Division A: Garfield Pool Improvements including the replacement/modification of the Mechanical Building and equipment including the pool heater, filter, recirculation pump, piping, valves, accessories, electrical and control panels and lighting; Bath House Building and appurtenances; modifications to the existing pool gutter system, piping and appurtenances; modifications to the pool deck and appurtenances, site lighting and electrical and construction of a new slide structure and pool with piping and appurtenances. Work on Division B: Garfield Park Improvements including new playground equipment, football field, landscaping, sidewalk, site lighting and parking lot. All permitted work covered by Illinois Department of Public Health must be completed by a pre-qualified contractor with IDPH for the construction of swimming facilities in Illinois. Division B: Division B will be released as an Addendum to this project the Week of January 9th. The work shall include selective site demolition, sidewalks, development of a JFL Football Field, playgrounds, playground lighting, site electrical improvements, parking lot, drainage improvements, plant material and grass seed installation. Questions for this work will be taken after release of the Addendum. A certified check or bank draft payable to the order of the Treasurer of the City of Danville or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The City of Danville reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive or not waive any informality in the bids, and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable to the City. It is agreed that this bid may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days from opening thereof or it will be subject to forfeit the 5% Bid Bond provided with the bid. It is anticipated that a Notice of Award of a contract will be issued within 30-to-45 days of the date bids are received and that a Notice to Proceed will be issued within 10 days of the date of the Notice of Award if contractor provides proper insurance and bonding in a timely manner. Work on this project is subject to the Federal Davis- Bacon Act, Copeland Act, Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, Clean Air & Federal Water Pollution Control Act, Byrd Anti Lobbying Act and contractor shall be registered with Sam.gov with no exclusions. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
