Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The project will be bid as five (5) separate divisions of work, intended to be provided under one (1) construction contract: Division 1 (Water Line Replacements) generally consists of the replacement of water lines in the project area with approximately 9,200 LF of 8-inch ductile iron water mains primarily within the south-bound lane of Main Street, including valves, hydrants, water services, connections to existing water lines, and related appurtenances. Division 2 (Sewer Line Replacements) generally consists of the replacement of sewer lines and manholes along Main Street with approximately 700 LF of 18-inch ductile iron gravity sewer, 1,150 LF of 8-inch PVC gravity sewer, primarily within the north-bound lane of Main Street, including precast concrete manholes, sewer services, connections to existing downstream sewers, and related appurtenances. Division 3 (Sidewalk Improvements) generally consists of the demolition of existing surfaces and site items, and the installation of limited areas of sidewalks, storm drainage, traffic striping, asphalt paving, erosion control, and concrete drive entrances. Division 4 (Downtown Underground Utilities) generally consists of the installation of underground utility conduits and concrete duct banks; approximately 2,000 LF along the center of Main Street, 300 LF along US 221, and extensions to side roads. Division 5 (Paving) generally consists of the milling and asphalt overlay of Main Street.
