As of August 15, 2024, a construction manager at risk was awarded. All sub-bidding is complete and construction is underway. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Bay District Schools has need for the professional services of a Construction Manager (CM) for the following projects: Campus-wide renovation of all trades at Lucille Moore Elementary School, Patronis Elementary School, and Tommy Smith Elementary School. Each school has approximately 90,000 total square feet. As authorized by Florida Statute 287.055, the selected firm(s) will establish a preconstruction services agreement, then a guaranteed maximum price with an established completion date. To be eligible for consideration, all interested firms must, at the time of submission, be authorized to do business in the State of Florida; hold a Florida General Contractor license; provide proof of insurance coverage (minimum $1 million for single projects and $2 million aggregate); demonstrate a capability to provide required Performance, Labor and Material Bonds; demonstrate appropriate financial strength; and have an acceptable history regarding litigation and defaults. In addition, firms must submit a Statement of Qualifications, and if shortlisted, commit to participate in an interview with the Selection Committee. Required components of service for assigned projects will include the following: Collaboration with the Architect and School District Options Analysis, value engineering, cost estimating, scheduling Market analysis, cultivation of bidders, preparation of bid packages and bidding of trade contracts Participation in the School District s direct materials purchase program to recover sales tax Preparation of a Guaranteed Maximum Price Providing a Performance, Labor and Materials Bond Construction management and site supervision Warranty management Firm(s) selected must have the manpower to mobilize quickly and complete awarded project(s) on an accelerated schedule Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, beginning at 8:00 AM in the Nelson Building. The committee s recommendation will be presented to the School Board at the January 24, 2023 School Board Meeting.
