Saving Project...

Renovation of a mixed-use development in Morrisville, New York. Design plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

As of November 2, 2023, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The State University Construction Fund is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide design and construction services for the phased renovation of Butcher Library, modernizing library services and developing the facility into a comprehensive student success center. Butcher Library was constructed in 1973 and comprises 58,003 GSF. The building houses the traditional library collection and services, and through the years has also added services promoting academic success such as EOP, Tutoring and Disability Services, Bookstore, and central printing. The campus facilities master plan identified physical improvements for academic enrichment and success in the library. This includes development of a student academic success center on the second floor and renovated space for Accessibility Services on the first floor. The stored library collection will be reduced. The lower-level campus store shall be right-sized and a new student copy/print/package center shall be created as a one stop shop for student academic copy and printing needs. The building shall be a learning commons, academic success hub, where all academic support functions reside. The building interiors, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and exterior components are past the end of their useful lives. The project is anticipated to be a phased renovation in an occupied building under a single construction project. Work will include full replacement of all interior finishes and components on the first and second floors and partial renovation to the basement. Included are new ADA compliant restrooms, hazardous materials abatement, and all necessary upgrades to meet current codes. Exterior work includes roof, window and door replacements and selected exterior soffit and masonry restoration. Consultants should emphasize their knowledge and experience on similar renovation projects incorporating building systems upgrades with renovations in occupied educational buildings and stress where the team has successfully worked together on renovation projects. Full programming services are required to confirm the draft program completed in the facilities master plan. Once registered, consultants will receive an email with the applicable Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and the link to upload your Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) at the submission deadline. SOQs must be submitted in the format prescribed by the Fund using the link provided in the email received after registration that supplies the RFQ. Required electronic copies of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) must be received by the due date and time specified in the RFQ. In accordance with State Finance Law 139-j and 139-k, all inquiries regarding this procurement can only be made to: Samantha Lord Jeremy Clausi Doreen Bottieri Scott Clay (M/WBE SDVOB Issues Only) Any questions regarding this procurement should be emailed to: SUCF.ConsultantProcurement@suny.edu.
