Site work for a water / sewer project in Masset, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Pre-Construction Collaboration Services and Construction Work for Septic Infrastructure Installation at Ocean House and Hiellen Longhouse Sites. Hiellen Longhouse Septic Infrastructure Upgrades The work at Hiellen will involve removal of the two existing septic tanks, tree clearing, installation of three manholes and PVC sanitary sewer, surface restoration, as well as installation of two SRPE (Steel Reinforced Polyethylene) septic tanks with anchor block tie downs for anti-buoyancy. The contractor will need to reconnect the sanitary service from the Longhouse and existing sanitary main to the new collection system. The SRPE tanks will be supplied by the owner. They will be supplied in two pieces per tank. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to weld the pieces together and install the tanks per the manufacturer specifications and construction drawings. All excavation will need to be conducted in the presence of an archaeological monitor and follow all archaeological protocols that have been developed for the project. Ocean House Lift Station The scope of work for the Ocean House lift station will include excavation according to the archeological protocol and in the presence of an archeological monitor, installation of the prefabricated fiberglass tank lift station and foundation, installation of lift station pumps and pump controls, commissioning of the lift station, and site restoration including backfill and permanent site fencing. The prefabricated lift station will be supplied by the owner and will include the tank, pumps, cover hatch, and pump controls. The contractor will be responsible for installation and commissioning of the lift station, as well as supply of any other materials required to install the lift station per the construction drawings and manufacturer specifications. The Ocean House Lift Station will be the focus of the collaborative design reviews due to the constrained nature and archeological sensitivity of the site. The design of the lift station foundation will need to account for buoyancy prevention measures due to the site’s proximity to the ocean and high ground water table. Minimizing the excavation required to install the proposed works will be a key consideration during the collaboration period.
