Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in San Clemente, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

License Requirements California contractor's license for the following classification: Class A. Liquidated Damages $1,000 per Day Estimated Bid Value $180,000 Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% The City of San Clemente is rehabilitating an existing earthen channel by excavating a new softbottom channel in the middle of the canyon and fortifying the sides to prevent lateral erosion that could undermine adjacent homes and infrastructure. The fortification consists of installing a 55 foot (ft) long x 7 ft wide x 12 ft high gabion armoring system south of the channel against the bluff, backfilling gravel between the proposed gabions and the bluff, and installing an approximately 12 ft long x 10 ft wide x 18 inch high gabion lining the sides of the streambed at the upper end of the construction site. The project would relocate and reconstruct the existing public trail north of the channel with concrete surface and footings that would extend approximately 5 ft below ground on either side of the redesigned trail. The primary purpose of the proposed project is to protect the banks of the canyon and to reduce erosion. The improvements will armor the banks and the revegetation of the creek areas will provide additional erosion control. The work to be performed, in general, consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the installation of approximately 54 linear feet of 9- and 12-foot high rock-filled and stacked gabion baskets witin the confined area of Montalvo Canyon immediately upstream of the San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail, in the City of San Clemente, CA. The work includes the construction of a concrete footing for the gabions below the existing grade of the canyon bottom. The back side of the gabions, between the gabions and the near-vertical canyon bluff will be backfilled with gravel. The work also includes grading of the canyon bottom, the placement of a gabion mat along the canyon bottom in vicinity of the upstream end of the improvements, and the construction of reinforced concrete trail improvements along the bank opposite of the gabion installation. The work requires revetation of the project area prior to completion of the work.
