St James Fire District, In Town Of Smithtown, New York, Is Soliciting Bids For The Replacement Of A Concrete Apron At Station 2, Located At 221 Jefferson, St. James, New York 11780 If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of specifications or other issues, he may submit to the St. James Fire District a written request for interpretation or correction thereof. Requests to be given consideration must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the Bid Date. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed document will be made by Addendum only, duly issued, and a copy will be mailed or delivered to each person receiving a set of documents not later than 48 hours prior to Bid Date. St. James Fire District will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation ofthe proposed document. All interested parties should provide a quote, in writing, which meets the above specifications, and shall include the following: Date ofinstallation: Date of completion: Warranty on parts: Warranty on labor: Any deviations from above: Proposals must be held firm for no less than 60 days. Interested parties may inspect the premises ifthey have any questions which will affect their proposals. Bankruptcy, Late Fees and Cancellations: The Fire District hereby reserves the right to terminate any agreement should the vendor declare bankruptcy, and such right shall be deemed included and incorporated to any signed agreement. ASSESSMENTS AND TAXES: The sales and compensating use taxes ofthe State of New York and of cities and counties do not apply to purchases and sales of materials and supplies pursuant to the provisions of this contract. These taxes are NOT to be included in bids. This exception does not, however, apply to tools, machinery, equipment, or other property leased by or to the contractor, or a subcontractor or to materials and supplies of a kind which will not be incorporated into the completed project. PREVAILING WAGE: The successful bidder shall ensure that the provisions of the labor law with respect to prevailing wage, are at all times complied with. The connactor and every subcontractor on public works projects shall post in a prominent and accessible place on the site ofthe work a legible statement of all wage rates and supplements as specified in the contract to be paid or provided. The current Prevailing Rate Schedule must be posted in a prominent and accessible place on the site ofthe public work project. The prevailing wage schedule must be encased in or constructed of, materials capable of withstanding adverse weather conditions and be titled "PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES" in letters no smaller than two (2) inches by two (2) inches
