Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Tuscola, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.
The City of Tuscola, Illinois, is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the demolition of all structures and disposal of all debris at 202 S. Main Street in Tuscola, Illinois. Attention is called to the suspected presence of asbestos containing materials (ACM's) and the requirement for permitting and specialized demolition techniques in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Formal bidding may be waived by the City Council. Attention is called to the applicability of the Prevailing Wage Act of the State of Illinois (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.) Contract award is anticipated to be approved by the Tuscola City Council on January 23, 2023. Demolition is to commence as soon as possible thereafter, but to be completed no later than April 30, 2023. Damages will be deducted from the contract price in the amount of $500 per day for each day the project is not completed beyond April 30, 2023. All proposals shall remain valid and binding against the proposer for a period of 30 days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals at its sole discretion.
