CTA plans to upgrade its current fare collection system with the goal of acquiring a feasible, cost-effective, and sustainable account-based fare collection system that will improve client experience and system efficiency for the island of Kaua i. As part of this effort, in 2021, CTA conducted needs assessments, explored potential fare collection system alternatives, and developed functional requirements for procurement of the envisioned future fare collection system. CTA is seeking a vendor that can provide a modular system that would help provide more options to riders and ease operations. Implementing Optional Functionality would be at the sole discretion of CTA. The Contractor shall provide a system that will allow CTA to provide an efficient, cost effective electronic fare collection system that improves operations by automating fare collection, while also improving client experience and access to services. The system is expected to improve data reporting to the back-office, provide convenient cash alternative and support operator daily activity. The County of Kaua'i is requesting proposals to FURNISH, DELIVER AND INSTALL AN ELECTRONIC FARE SYSTEM for the Department of Transportation, Office of the Mayor. The contract awarded through this solicitation will be funded by the Coronavirus Relief Fund established within section 601 of the Social Security Act, as added by section 5001 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES Act"). Before any Offeror enters into a contract to perform services in excess of $25,000 for any governmental agency, the Offeror must, wherein applicable, comply with the provisions of Section 103-55, HRS, regulating wages and hours and working conditions of employees of contractors supplying services to governmental agencies.
