The project is referred to as "Saunders County 2023 Concrete Box Culverts: C-78(872), C-78(873), & C-78(818) and shall include all labor, materials, transportation and equipment required for the construction of: C-78(872) twin 10'x10'x54' concrete box culvert on a 0 skew, C-78(873) twin 12'x10'x78' concrete box culvert on a 10 skew (RHB) with sloped paved inlet apron and paved outlet apron, C-78(818) twin 12'x8'x14' concrete box culvert extension at inlet with paved inlet apron and twin 12'x12'x16' concrete box culvert extension at outlet with paved outlet apron, and other related incidental work. Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the Saunders County Highway Superintendent, Wahoo, Nebraska. Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the County Treasurer of Saunders County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to provide a Start of Construction date and an End of Construction date for each site with their Bid Proposal. The desired completion date for all sites is October 31, 2023. The successful bidder (i.e. Contractor) will be allowed sixty-five (65) calendar days for completion of each site after beginning work at that site, provided they do not exceed their specified completion dates for each site. Additional days due to weather may be granted at the discretion of the Engineer. Calendar Days will be tracked per project and the days will not be accumulated. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to the acceptance by the Saunders County Board of Supervisors. The Saunders County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities in bids received. No project can be started without the intent to complete that site without delay from the other sites, therefore, the Contractor will not be allowed to start the removals at a site unless they have committed a crew to complete the work at that site. Award of the Contract will be in accordance with the County Purchasing Acts competitive bidding considerations as set forth in Neb.Rev.Stat. 23-3110 to 23-3114.
