Saving Project...

Site work for a mixed-use development in La Vista, Nebraska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a swimming pool.

Due to its significant age (60+ years) and ongoing maintenance issues, the existing City swimming pool has reached the end of its useful life. Discussion has been ongoing for several years regarding the eventual need to replace this facility and the available options to do so. The existing pool location is immediately adjacent to the site where a pedestrian underpass will be constructed to connect Central Park and Central Park West. In order to facilitate the underpass connection and utilize the space west of 84th Street it is necessary to demolish the existing pool. A $5M federal earmark for the project has been awarded and, as such, demolition of the existing pool has been programmed. Subsequently, a new swimming pool could be constructed. Project is included City of La Vista FY 2023 - 2027 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
