In accordance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act 2.2-4303, the Town of Abingdon (Town) is requesting proposals for to procure a Master Wayfinding Signage Plan and Budget. The Town reserves the right to utilize the selected firm from this RFP process to provide a Master Wayfinding Signage Plan and Budget. Any questions received after January 21, 2023 may not be answered in fairness to other bidders. The Town reserves the right to make the final determination of responsible Offerors and to waive informalities and/or irregularities and to accept or reject any or all offers. Proposals should be as thorough and detailed as possible so that the Town may properly evaluate the capabilities of respective Offerors to provide the required services. It is not the intent of the specifications to be proprietary, or to exclude any individual, business or firm. The Town of Abingdon is a tourist and destination hub centrally located in Southwest Virginia. The Towns status as a destination requires proper signage and wayfinding to aid visitors and residents when traveling to key destinations and attractions within the Town. The Town of Abingdon is seeking proposals from consulting groups specializing in transportation planning, design, and wayfinding to develop a Master Wayfinding Signage Plan for communities, corridors, and destinations. The motivation for this plan is the desire to: 1.) Provide attractive and innovative wayfinding signage that meets the needs of residents and visitors of the Area; 2.) Establish a high quality transportation related brand identity that is cohesive but also reflective of the individual districts; 3.) Promote and enhance key gateways and entrances into the individual districts. This plan will serve as a management, design, and construction guide for placement of transportation and recreation related signs and wayfinding assets
