Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Moncton, New Brunswick. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The work consists of the construction of a new, single-lane roundabout that includes four (4) approaches: Worthington Avenue Extension (two (2) approaches), Ayer Avenue, and a Future Street. The Worthington Avenue Extension approaches will be a full street construction, including sidewalk on one (1) side, and a multi-use trail on the other side. For the Ayer Avenue extension from the intersection of Preston Crescent / Ayer Avenue to the new roundabout, it will be a full street construction, include sidewalk on both sides. The Future Street (north approach) will be a full street construction, including sidewalk on one (1) side. In addition to full street construction, the Work will also include the installation of new storm sewer, sanitary sewer and watermain on the various approaches, services to vacant lots, underground wiring, and pole bases for street lighting and landscaping. The full street construction of the east approach of Worthington Avenue Extension will be limited to approximately the first thirty-five meters (35m) from the roundabout; however, sanitary sewer and watermain will be extended beyond this limit and connect to the existing systems on Mountain Road. Work to extend the sanitary sewer and watermain to Mountain Road will involve trench restoration in roadways, parking lots, and landscaped areas. Trenches in these areas are to be restored to match existing conditions and grades. Work will also include modifications to the existing NBCC parking lot, including extensions to the existing parking area and line painting modifications, and construction of a new sixty-six (66) space parking lot including storm and drainage infrastructure and line painting. Contractors are advised that all work within the existing NBCC parking lots and construction of the NBCC parking lot expansion (including line painting) must be completed by AUGUST 30, 2024. The remainder of the work must be substantially completed no later than NOVEMBER 6, 2024. Documents are available at http://moncton.bidsandtenders.ca
