* Award subject to final approval. The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of replacement of carpet tile flooring at 245 Smith Street. The major components of the Work are as follows: (a) Contractor shall perform site measurements during the site investigation meeting to confirm correct quantity of carpet tiles to be ordered. (b) Remove all existing carpet tiles in project scope areas or units, clean and prepare existing subfloor substrate surfaces to receive new carpet tile, as per flooring manufacturer's written installation instructions. (c) Remove existing carpet and rubber wall base in project scope areas or units, and supply and install new rubber cove base to match to all walls, unless otherwise noted. (d) Construction to be carried out after business day hours starting at 5:00 p.m. in project scope areas or units, and to coordinated with Contract Administrator or additional personnel representing the Contract Administrator for phasing of work. (e) The project scope areas or units in the building are staffed 24/7 and should a major incident arise the prime contractor and their subtrades will need to vacate the area and building immediately. They will be notified by the Contract Administrator when to return. (f) Workstations to remain and be fully operational during carpet replacement. (g) All transition strips and floor reducers to be replaced are to match to existing material and colours. (h) Provide 10% extra carpet tile for maintenance material. (i) Flooring materials and related products are specified in Drawing A-1. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
