The Preble County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids; to waive any irregularities in bidding; and to enter into a contract(s) with the bidder or bidders who in their consideration offered the lowest and best bid. START DATE OF THIS PROJECT IS June 1, 2023. COMPLETION DATE OF THIS PROJECT IS September 8, 2023. BIDDERS MUST BE PRE-QUALIFIED WITH ODOT TO PERFORM NECESSARY WORK. PROJECT MUST USE PREVAILING STATE WAGE RATES THAT ARE INCLUDED WITH BID PACKET. Each bid must be accompanied by cashier's check or certified check issued by a responsible bank or trust company and payable to the order of the Preble County Commissioners or by a bid bond acknowledged by the bidder, as principal, and by a surety company qualified to do business in the State of Ohio and satisfactory to the owner, as surety. The cashier's check or certified check shall be in the sum of ten (10%) percent of the bid. The bid bond shall be in the sum of 100% of the bid, which includes the total of the base bid and any alternates, as per ORC requirements. Once the bid is awarded, the successful bidder agrees to furnish a performance bond for the total amount of the Resurfacing project.
Retainage of 8% will be withheld for the first 50% of the labor completed for the project. Retainage will be released upon approval and completion of project. Any retainage withheld shall be done so pursuant to agreement. If bid is accepted, Contractor will be required to add Preble County Commission to its insurance policy as an additional insured. AGREEMENT INCLUDED IN BID PACKET IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. IF BID IS ACCEPTED, CONTRACTOR WILL BE EXPECTED TO SIGN ENCLOSED AGREEMENT.
