Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Working plans call for the construction of a 70,200-square-foot, two-story above grade, one-story below grade museum; clubhouse / community center; and day care center.

Site work and construction of a new Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre. The facility will be located within the Federal Road Development Area. The proposed facility consists of an approximately 6,500 m2 purpose-built heritage and museum facility designed to achieve Category A museum standards, including stringent environmental control requirements for artifact preservation and collections storage. The new facility will feature: An Interactive long-term and temporary exhibitions; Language, sewing, arts, woodworking, and carving, butchering, and skin preparation spaces; Visible storage, specialized Inuit and northern library, access to archival materials, map tables, screening and digital makerspace; Indoor and outdoor performance spaces; Elders/scholars/artists' hostel and daycare centre; café featuring country food, training and catering; shop featuring arts, crafts and supplies; Collections storage facilities and conservation laboratory; and Boardroom and offices. TIMELINE: Project is pending funding approval. RFP for Design-Assist Services is underway for Timber Curtainwall, Fire Protection, Mechanical and Electrical. The project is currently progressing through design development, led by Dorte Mandup Canada Inc. Construction is anticipated to commence in summer 2027, with substantial completion targeted for late 2030/ early 2031. *The Inuit Heritage Trust awarded the contract to the Denmark-based architectural firm, Dorte Mandrup Architects.
