Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Springfield, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and playground / park / athletic field.
**As of February 6, 2023, this project has been awarded to P.H. Broughton & Sons in the amount of $321,816.12 A. Scope of work is to improve existing asphalt pavement as well as the playground area. Project site will receive improvement of items such as follows but not limited to: 1. Demolition of the existing asphalt pavement and replace it with new pavement. 2. Demolish some of the existing Playground Equipment as shown on drawings. 3. Install new Playground Equipment as shown on the drawings. 4. Demolition of the wood chip playground area and replace with new wood chips. 5. Paint playground paving striping in same place as shown in drawings. B. Drawings and general provisions of Contract including General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Contracting Requirements and Division 1 Sections apply to the Work. Project No - 4010-002 A. Work in this section shall include all materials, labor, tools, equipment and services required for the provision and installation of new playground equipment. A. Base Bid 1. Contractor to provide: a. Remove and dispose of designated paving, sidewalk pavement, or portions thereof, as shown on drawings. b. Remove and dispose of rubbish and debris resulting from demolition operations. In general, includes the furnishing and installing of certain building materials and components required to build mock-ups for review by the Architect and the Owner. Refer to schedule of required mock-ups in Part 2 of this Section for specific requirements. A. At Contractor's option - Seeding or Hydroseeding B. Erosion-Control materials. A. Extent of concrete work is shown on drawings, including schedules, notes and details which show size and location of members and type of concrete to be poured. Furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment and hardware required in conjunction with or related to the forming, delivery and pouring of all poured-in-place concrete work. B. Concrete paving and walks are specified in Division 32. A. Provide hot-mix asphalt paving according to materials, workmanship, and other applicable requirements of Standard Specifications of IDOT. 1. Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction in Illinois - Substitute "Architect/Engineer" for "Department". 2. Measurement and payment provisions and safety program submittals included in standard specifications do not apply to this Section. The work includes transporting materials and equipment (including but not limited to, oils, aggregate supplies, parts, machinery and tools) to or from the job site; distributing oil or liquid asphalt and aggregate; stock piling material when in connection with the actual oil and chip contract. The Truck Driver (Oil & Chip Resealing) wage classification does not include supplier delivered materials. Generally, the work includes Demolition of the existing asphalt pavement and replace it with new pavement. Demolition of the wood chip playground area and replace it with new wood chips. Paint playground paving striping in the same place as shown in drawings. Bids shall include: 1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate. 2. Bid Deposit in the amount of 10% of Bid. 3. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Ch. 489, Sec. 39s-1 et. seq. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act". Prevailing wage rates have been determined and are on file at the Office of the State of Illinois Department of Labor, telephone (217) 782-6206. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located in the Proposal Form, Section 00 30 00, of this Project Manual. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of Bid, made payable to the Springfield School District #186. Failure of Bidders to submit bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of 10% of the bid shall be cause for rejection of bid. Successful Bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by a duly authorized U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. Last day for Questions is Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 5:00 pm CDT. The Board of Education for Springfield School District #186 reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids without written consent of the Owner.
