For Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center B-Level Master Plan Study UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for the proposed UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center B-Level Master Plan Study (UCLA Project # 908521.01). UCLA Health proposes selecting an architect to renovate approximately 12,000 SF on B-Level of Merle Norman Pavilion and Central Wing at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center to reconfigure the vacated space and reassign departments for operational efficiency. The proposed master plan and space program would improve space management for Dialysis Equipment Repair and Cleaning Room, Sterile Processing (SPD), Environmental Services (EVS), Clinical Engineering, Pharmacy, Facilities, and Materials Management departments. Responses to this RFQ should demonstrate familiarity and experience in the design, planning, and construction of administration spaces, SPD equipment replacement, and high-density storage for pharmacy, clinical engineering, materials management, and environmental services, including Department of Public Health requirements (Title 22) and HCAI / OSHPD 1 building. The personnel proposed for this project's assignment must demonstrate experience in these areas. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Life-Safety systems analysis of the existing building infrastructure shall be included in the pre-design study phase to ensure the projected design loads can be supported. The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for full design services comprising basic architectural services, including schematic design, design development, interiors package, construction documents, cost estimate, LEED, assistance during the bid/award phase, construction administration, record documents, and project closeout for SMUMC B-Level Master Plan Study project; however, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase. The University has not determined a delivery method for this project but may include either CMAR or Design/Bid/Build. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices to achieve a minimum LEED Healthcare Silver Rating. The construction cost for the project has not yet been determined; however, it is anticipated to be between $8-10 million, depending upon the project phasing and the agreed scope of work. The work also may be executed in several incremental projects. The final selection and appointment of the Executive Architect is contingent upon project approval by the University of California Board of Regents or their delegated authority Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within limits imposed by law or University policy.
