Site work and new construction of a residential development in Shelburne, Vermont. Completed plans call for the construction of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The Town of Shelburne seeks bids to provide construction services to remove all existing facilities for the Shelburne Beach bathhouse building and septic holding tank and to replace the tank and construct a new beach bath house building. The Shelburne Town Beach is located at the end of Beach Road in Shelburne on 1.5 acres overlooking Lake Champlain. The public facility is open to Shelburne Residents year-round, but is only operated with seasonal staff in the summer season, when the Beach bath house is available for use. This project is intended to be started and completed during the off season when use is not as heavy. However, access to other parts of the park facility such as the playground, picnic area and boat launch will need to remain open during construction. The purpose of the project is to construct a new Shelburne Beach House that is both functionally efficient for restroom facilities and to provide a storage and operations center for seasonal staff. In addition, a small covered "porch" area will provide a small shelter space from rain and sun as well as a place to gather socially for park visitors. The new design features four gender neutral bathroom changing areas, two of which will be accessible. Additionally, three open outdoor shower stalls will improve the structure from the old two bath and one shower facility built in the 1950's and in dire need of upgrade and replacement. Project site will be available for Contractor to begin no earlier than September 5, 2023. Project must be completed by April 30, 2024 Bidder is responsible for temporary heat and enclosures. Electrical power supplied by owner. The Town of Shelburne will not require liquidated damages in the contract awarded. Proposals shall include: 1. A brief introduction to your firm and identification of the principal individuals that will provide requested services. A short summary of demonstrated successful experience on projects similar to the Shelburne Beach House project. Name, address, and phone number for up to three examples of such projects. 2. A cost proposal for the scope of work. 3. Proof of Liability Insurance with at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate and Statutory Worker's Compensation Insurance. 4. Names and qualifications of any sub-contractors to be utilized on the project. 5. A proposed schedule that indicates overall time for completion and completion date. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Town in care of Town Manager Lee Krohn, and plainly marked with the name of the bid. The date and time of each bid proposal received will be written on the outside of the envelope. Any bid may be withdrawn in writing prior to the scheduled time for the opening of bids. Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered and will be returned to the bidder unopened. Bidders shall bid to specifications, and any exceptions and/or alternate services or products must be noted. The project will be awarded by March 14, 2023.
