Lawnwood Softball Field 2 Renovation: Approximate dimensions, Turf 1.38 acres, Skinned area .34 acres 1. Survey and record existing elevations and grades. 2. Develop a grading plan. Show and discuss the grading plan with the park supervisor for approval before starting the grading process. 3. Using a soil profiling machine, remove existing turf to a depth of approximately 1.5-2 inches. Remove spoils from the field and haul to an onsite location. 4. Rototill/ scarify to loosen existing clay. Grade clay to a uniform slope toward the outfield. Add or remove clay as required to achieve slope. 5. Rototill, roll and grade the outfield to maintain a uniform slope and tie into the existing warning track and infield skinned area. Add material where required to meet grades and tilled into existing material. 6. Grade warning track to meet fence lines, turf and infield skins. 7. Supply and install certified big roll Bermuda 419 or seek approval for use of other similar Bermuda turf varieties from St. Lucie County parks staff.
