Jake Wolf Memorial Fish Hatchery - Well 5 repair Location: Jake Wolf Memorial Fish Hatchery 25410 Fish Hatchery Rd Topeka, Il 61567 Well #5 that supplies water for fish production at Jake Wolf Memorial Fish Hatchery (Jake Wolf) is in need of a new pump. Currently, the shaft and pump have been pulled from the well, no pump is located at Well #5 and the well is inoperable. The original specifications at Well #5 included a 1200 gallon pump capacity/170 ft dynamic head pump, 2 stage 16" screen diameter, 40' long screen length, and 108' depth. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), specifically Jake Wolf, requires the water from 10 wells located on Sand Ridge Forest property to culture up to 18 species of freshwater fish. Over 2 million fish are stocked each year in state waters including Lake Michigan. IDNR is seeking bids that include labor, materials and equipment to pump test Well #5 to determine the proper pump equipment needed, perform the installation of a new pump into Well #5, and start up and testing of Well #5 after installation of the new pump at Jake Wolf Hatchery in Topeka, IL. The Bidder must have the expertise and ability to provide materials, labor and equipment necessary to pump test Well #5 to determine the pump capacity and total dynamic head. Based on the results of the pump test, install a new proper size pump into Well # 5. After installation, perform start up and test pumping of the new equipment installed. Existing Well Pump Information: o lineshaft pump o 1200 RPM pump o Pump set at 66 ft 7 inch o 14 inch pipe, 16.5 inch lineshaft o 75 HP 1. The contractor shall pump test Well #5 to determine the pump capacity and total dynamic head. 2. Based on the results of the pump test, install a new proper size pump into Well # 5. 3. After installation, perform start up and test pumping of the new equipment installed. 4. The contractor shall dispose of all discarded material at a location off site. Features of Well #5 include depth 108', 40' screen length, and 16" screen diameter. The last pump that was utilized in Well #5 was a 2 stage pump, with a pump capacity of 1200/170 gpm/ft. It is estimated that Well #5 will require the same size pump capacity as before but not quaranteed. Well #5 is located approximately 1.5 miles from the hatchery in Sand Ridge State Forest.
