Replacement of Northbrook and Woodway No. 2 lift station force main by trenchless and open-cut method. Work shall also include the installation of three (3) 2" air release valves or the existing manholes for the Belle Park #3 Lift Station force main. The scope of the services for this project includes the following: Historical review of the project alignment through interviews with property owners or applicable individuals (manager, broker, attorney, etc.) and historical data such as aerial photographs, United States Geological Survey (USGS) maps, city directories, and sanborne insurance maps. Perform site reconnaissance to determine or observe the presence of suspicious practices, materials, or spills, dumping areas, distressed vegetation, or any conditions that may lead to contamination. Evaluate past and present land use of the project alignment, and adjacent properties for indications of generation, use, storage, transportation, and/or disposal of hazardous substances or petroleum products along the project alignment. Contact federal, state, and local officials to review files and records pertaining to fires, explosions, chemical spills, and notices of permits, registrations, violations. This will also include identifying superfund facilities and checking oil and gas records. Evaluate potential for soil and/or groundwater contamination due to the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances or petroleum products.
