Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Clear Lake, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 11,100-square-foot transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

The work generally consists of construction of a pre-engineered 11,100 SF hangar with associated mechanical, plumbing and electrical improvements, concrete paving and site restoration. Engineer's estimate of probable construction cost is between $1,200,000 and $1,400,000. Approximate project quantities include: 11,100 SF Pre-Engineered T-Hangar 606 SY Subgrade Preparation/Modified Subbase 604 SY PCC pavement with modified subbase Water Service Installation Sanitary Service Installation Erosion Control and Site Restoration The Commission will meet at 4:00 p.m. on February 13, 2023 in the Joni E. Dunn Meeting Room on the second floor of the terminal building to open bids. Upon review and evaluation of the bids the Commission will meet at a time and date to be determined to consider the bids. After issuance of Notice to Proceed, contractor may commence work on the project. The Mason City Municipal Airport has established a construction completion date of June 28, 2024. All project work shall be completed within the stated timeframe. This project is subject to liquidated damages as prescribed within the project manual. Bid Security and Other Bonds Bid security in the amount of Five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price. Award of Contract All proposals submitted in accordance with the instructions presented herein will be subject to evaluation. Bids may be held by the Airport Commission for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of conducting the bid evaluation. It is the intent of the Airport Commission, after a period of review and evaluation, to award the contract to the responsible bidder that submits the lowest responsive proposal, meeting the requirements of the technical specifications and supplemental Owner specific additions and clarifications. The right is reserved, as the Airport Commission may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. The Airport Commission of the City of Mason City, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
