The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner (WRC) is seeking bids from experienced and financially secure contractors to provide the following: The CRWRRF plant generates about 1,000 wet tons of biosolids per month or approximately 12,000 tons per year. The processed dried sludge is similar to the consistency of topsoil and has a measured percent solids content of approximately 30%. Most of the wastewater sludge is anaerobically digested prior to mechanical dewatering and disposed of as Exceptional Quality (EQ) Class A biosolids in accordance with 40 CFR Part 503 and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Part 24 rules. The facility has a two-week shutdown every year. At this point in time, the facility requires two sources of disposal for the biosolids program.
