Makah Forestry is accepting bids for pre-commercial thinning (PCT) in 411.2 acres of young forest stands. Stands will be thinned to 360 trees per acre. Leave trees will be selected based on species and health. Preferred leave species are western red cedar, Sitka spruce, and Douglas fir. Prospectus available at Makah Forestry Office. Bid submissions must include the following: o Full name o Permanent Mailing Address o Contact Number o Makah Enrollment Number (if applicable) o Bid amount: per acre price for 411.2 acres. Contract Requirements All work under the contract must be completed prior to December 15, 2023. All acres will be awarded to the same bidder. Bidders must have a minimum crew of four experienced saw operators who are approved by the Forestry staff. TERO requirements are in effect. Bid will be assessed a 1% fee that will be assessed for contracts between $10,000 and $100,000 or a 2% fee for contracts over $100,000. Individuals defaulting on forestry contracts may not be awarded any additional contracts for a period of one year from the default date. General liability and motor vehicle liability insurance shall not have limits less than $100,000/ $300,000 for personal injury and $100,000 for property damage. Proof of insurance shall be delivered to Makah Forestry before work can begin. Bid forms can be mailed or hand delivered.
